Chad brings more than 15 years of private business experience in team leadership, change management, strategy and goal setting, leadership development, instructional design and facilitation in the food & beverage and health insurance industries.

Education & Credentials

Chad joined the Dering team after hiring Dering as a client at both Ahold Delhaize and Boston Beer. As a client, he appreciated the practical approach that Dering brings to meet the client where they’re at. They supported the development of junior to mid-level leadership programs to customize to an existing competency model while savings thousands of dollars. They also provided experts to join the learning team and build technical retail programs for hundreds of stores. They’ve supported organizational transformation with change management practices leading new system implementations training programs for breweries at Boston Beer.

Chad holds a Master of Education (M.Ed) degree from Penn State University, specializing in Training and Organizational Development. Furthermore, he is a Prosci Certified Change Management Practitioner, illustrating his commitment to effectively managing and facilitating change within organizations. Chad’s extensive career spans over a decade, during which he has consistently demonstrated his leadership skills by excelling as a Team Leader in areas such as Learning & Development, Change Management, and Diversity & Inclusion.


A devoted enthusiast of outdoor activities, Chad thrives on the experiences of biking, hiking, and camping, often in the company of his husband and their cherished Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. In the culinary realm, Chad’s passion is exemplified by his expertise in homebrewing, an affinity for Belgian beer styles, and his mastery of smoked meats on the barbecue. Beyond his personal pursuits, Chad is an advocate for the LGBTQ community, actively involved with the LGBTQ Center Coalition and Central PA Pride. His commitment to making a difference extends to volunteer work, with contributions to the Food Bank of Central PA and Habitat for Humanity renovation projects.
